The allied course was structured along time period of three weeks.
WEEK 1: The project started with collecting sounds from the surrounding. From the streets, neighbourhoods, and homes. Any sound that interests us. We broke up the sounds, joined them, and mixed them to see the possibilities. We figure out what can be used to create sounds by taking the recorded sounds as a springboard. Also, we made drawings to figure out how the objects will come together at this stage. Idea was not to make machines to produce sound rather movement based on the sound.
This audio clip was composed by me from a set of sound clips exchanged with my partner which focused on the sound rather than the objects creating the sound.
WEEK 2: We start collecting materials (discarded household objects, readymades, motors, ICs etc. Here we experiment with recorded sounds, stock sounds from the internet, amplifiers etc. This collection of discared objects was then used to make a mechanism / machine that would encapsulate the essence of these sounds composed by us into a physical form .
WEEK 3: We finished our individual sound machines and assemble them into a large machine , a amalgamation of all our works into a theatrical performance.
